Last year, my partner and I had an astrologer find a good date for our wedding this year. She specializes in this sort of work and picked September 8, 2001. Now we have just had another astrologer tell us that this is really not a good date at all. After talking with the second astrologer, we feel that September 8 most likely isn't the right date for us (which makes me wonder what the first astrologer was looking at). This is tricky since a lot of our wedding planning is in full swing for September.
We really want to be conscious in establishing our marriage. We are aware of our relationship's (and astrological) strengths and shortcomings and we want to do our best to support our relationship. It has been a bit frustrating to receive such different opinions, mainly because we have paid a lot of money for them. The second astrologer feels that there really aren't many good options for wedding dates at all this year, and the first did say something similar, at least for the first half of the year.
We are very interested to hear more thoughts on the matter. Is 2001 just not a good year to marry with all of the retrogrades and challenging aspects (not to mention it is my Saturn Return year)? How much weight should we put into astrology in making the decision? Any pointers in picking a date for ourselves?
