Shamanic Astrology Apprenticeship Program

The Shamanic Astrology Apprenticeship Program has been established to qualify individuals with a serious intent to practice Shamanic Astrology as taught by Daniel Giamario. Certification in this practice is useful for the following purposes:

1. Full time or part time Shamanic Astrology Counseling. A background in traditional astrology may be helpful but is not necessary.

2. Integration of the most powerful and useful Shamanic Astrology techniques into an already established therapeutic practice, such as breathwork, psychology, psychiatry, personal coaching, facilitating rites of passage, bodywork, etc.

3. General interest to quicken and deepen ones personal path of self- development and awareness.

Certification Requirements

1. Mastery of the fundamentals of the Shamanic Astrology script material, as taught by Daniel Giamario. Applicant must be prepared to pass an oral examination.

2. Experience with Shamanic Astrology counseling. Daniel or other certified Shamanic Astrologers will review tapes of sessions, or alternatively sit in on a session.

3. Applicant must work regularly for at least one year with an outdoor site aligned to track the cycles of the earth and sky. For example, a stone circle, or medicine wheel structure of your own design, or alternatively, to use a naturally formed geomantic site also aligned to the cycles of the earth and sky.

4. Experience of the initiatory rite of the Astrological Vision quest. These are usually available at the Solstice and Equinox gatherings.

5. Attendance (at minimum) of four trainings with Daniel Giamario, at least two being an outdoor gathering; or equivalent hours in residence at Blue Heron House-Center for Shamanic Astrology in Northern Idaho.

There are currently several Shamanic Astrologers that have completed the training, with several others currently in the program. The first two to complete this process were Carolyn Brent of Tucson, Arizona who has established a successful Shamanic Astrology practice and Anyaa McAndrew of Atlanta, Georgia who integrates Shamanic Astrology with her successful transpersonal psychology practice. There are several apprentices currently in training to receive their certification.
