The next Venus Transit does not happen until December 10, 2117 so this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and will be visible from Hawaii.
This magical event is being held on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Ramashala Retreat Center. In addition to the Night Sky and Cosmology of the Turning of the Ages teachings, and deepening and honoring our sacred connection to the stars and planets, this event includes many other special features.
During our magical week near the back sand beach - across the street and a short walk from Ramashala - we will be visiting:
- The Lava Flows (see pictures below)
- The Sacred Cave to Pele and Hiʻiaka (Pele’s favorite sister, more on the story to follow soon)
- An exotic Garden of Eden type Fruit Farm
- Green Lake (see below)
- Imiloa (a planetarium and astronomy center dedicated to remembering the skills of the ancient navigators. Imiloa is a Hawaiian word that means exploration driven by a sense of wonder and imagination)
We are also working on having authentic Sacred Cultural Hawaiian Story Telling during the event.
Cost for this week long event includes all the teachings, food, lodging, and transportation to the sites we are visiting and any entry fees:
$1995 for a shared space or $1775 for those who are registered and paid by February 1, 2012
Single Supplements are available with two options:
Single room with private bath is $350 (two are available on first come first serve basis)
Single room with a shared bath is $250 (three are available on a first come first serve basis)
Couple Rate:
$3500 for a private room with private bath if available. Early registration is $3300.00 if registered and paid by February 1, 2012
$3400 for a private room and shared bath. Early registration is $3200 if registered and paid by February 1, 2012
The event price does NOT include airfare. However, fares to Hawaii are very reasonable now especially if you book your flight early.
Last note: For those on the SAMS certification tracks, this event counts as either the Entry Level Cosmology and Night Sky OR the Advanced Cosmology and Night Sky.

A $500 deposit will hold your space and space is limited at Ramashala.

Class Schedule
Class begins after dinner on June 3 and ends at Noon on June 10. Transportation to the airport will be available after Lunch for those who are leaving. Daily class schedule is yet to be determined and may vary with lots of time to enjoy the surrounding area. Night Sky is a main feature of this gathering so most evenings (as long as we have clear skies) will be spent exploring the night sky.
Airport Pick-up or Shared Car Rental
If you would like to coordinate car rental or being picked up at the airport email or call Cayelin (520-744-6923). Once we know everyone’s itinerary we can coordinate airport pickup or help connect people who want to share car rental only if you are flying into the Hilo Airport. If you fly into the Kona Airport you will need to find a way to the other side of the island.

If you are paying the Full Amount through PayPal contact Cayelin for the amount and a PayPal invoice can be sent.

Beautiful Green Lake is one of only two natural fresh water lakes on the Big Island located in a 400 year old crater. The lake is spring-fed in a lush jungle setting. A great place to swim and hike and enjoy the diversity of jungle and vistas. Some more info on Green Lake with pictures.

Hi Barbara, yes…if you are interested in the Night Sky this is the perfect place to begin understanding and knowing these mysteries in a very deep personal way. Especially in such a magical setting. You may not grasp it completely with your left brain right away…it has taken all of of us time to learn the nuances of this and we are all still learning with new discoveries and insights happening each time we engage the Night Sky.
What we emphasize is the magical, intuitive, ceremonial connection and you will learn how to tune into that during our time together. Plus, of course the left brain teachings are there too. I was so surprised after my first Night Sky back in 1992 how much I remembered and could share with others a couple of weeks later. Let me know if you have any other questions.
