OBAMA, HEALTH CARE, AND THE FATE OF MATURE IDEALISM

Monday, September 7th, 2009

by Daniel Giamario2008 head shots daniel 122

Last year on Election Day was the first of five exact Saturn Uranus oppositions: November 4, 2008, February 5, 2009, September 15, 2009, April 26, 2010, and July 26, 2010. I have mentioned in past articles this can be seen as an ascending octave of the previous Saturn Uranus oppositions of 1964-1966. I see this culturally as the encounter between mature idealism and universal values with hierarchical, patriarchal dominator control programs, sometimes known as the “culture wars”.

I envision these grand planetary dances through a dialectic model. The November 4, 2008 and February 5, 2009 conjunctions are the thesis, the introduction and accent on hope and idealism represented by the election of the Aquarius-rising Obama and the vast outpouring of hope and good will throughout the world that happened at that time. The September 15, 2009 conjunction as at the center point of the antithesis, representing the rising tide of big money, big pharma, the insurance conglomerate, the defense (war) establishment, and fear-based conservatives launching a counter attack on mature idealism and universal global values.

Pluto stations at the Galactic Cross once in 248 years!

Pluto Stations Direct Sept 11, 2009

In this time of the Turning of the Ages many highly significant and extremely rare planetary alignments have been occurring. September 11, 2009 marks Pluto’s station direct. Pluto’s stationary energy lasts for nearly a month before and a month after the exact station date with September 11 acting as the center point of this portal. This Pluto station direct (zero degrees and 39 minutes of Capricorn) is unique and powerful because it is occurring at the closest direct station to the December Solstice marker of zero Capricorn in 248 years. In 2008 Pluto stationed direct at 28 Sagittarius and in 2010 Pluto will station direct at 2 Capricorn 47. This year Pluto stations direct at 0 Capricorn 39.

the Galactic Cross

Every 26,000 years for about 144 years the December Solstice aligns along the Galactic Cross (where the plane of our Galaxy intersects the plane of our Solar System) near Galactic Center. The center point of this alignment was in 1998 with about 72 years on either side representing the window of the Turning of the APlutoges. When the current galactic cycle began 26,000 years ago it is possible that Pluto did not pass through Capricorn at that time and did not station at zero degrees Capricorn on the Galactic Cross.

The main point here is to emphasize the unique importance and rarity of this Pluto alignment. During any planetary station we experience a Still Point (a portal of infinite possibilities) in relationship to those planetary energies. Pluto is the single most important symbol we have for alchemical transformation, bringing the shadow to light for the purpose of experiencing greater empowerment, and shamanic death and rebirth.

http://www.rmmscanadianhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/knighting.jpgWhen we add to this powerful aspect, the ongoing rare triple alignment of Neptune, Chiron, and Jupiter this year (all three planets are still within 5 degrees of each other), we know this time represents a nexus, connecting the ancient future in the here and now. All the timelines are converging. The portals and pathways of these varying expressions of time, from past to future, are all Priestess.jpg image by caryhoneybeecollapsing into the present moment. Past woundings are being transformed through Chiron’s healing gift, bridging ancient/future knowledge intended to support the present moment realization (Jupiter) of our future visions and dreams (Neptune).

We too have the opportunity to converge at this powerful nexus of planetary and galactic energies and ceremonially engage our heart-felt wonder celebrating the power of our shared connection in co-creation of the New Earth. This is the function of the New Earth Priest and Priestess, the guardians and keepers of the emerging mysteries, at the Turning of the Ages.

The opening lines of the Emerald Tablets of Hermes state, “That which is Below emerald tablets http://www.timstouse.com/images/EmeraldTablets/emeral1.jpg corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above corresponds to that which is Below, in the accomplishment of the miracle of One Thing.” This law of correspondence reminds us of our responsibility to know what is happening in the Great Above so we can more consciously co-create through our ceremonial intent the miracle of One Thing, the miracle of our connection to the ONE source of all, the miracle of love.

P.S. Pluto brings our fears to our attention as evidenced in recent events around the world. In the United States the battle over health care reform is bringing up huge fear and misinformation. This is being fueled by the Insurance Companies and Drug Companies who are spending millions of dollars to promote fear in an effort to defeat any changes that might interfere with their profits.
This debate is forcing us to look at how we have given away our right to determine our own path of health and vitality. The reality is these decisions have long been in the hands of the these companies who are profiting off the ill-health of others. Being willing to look at these shadowed aspects and take responsibility for our choices will prove to be ultimately empowering even though right now it looks like a chaotic mess. The old system must die for a new healthier system to take its place and letting go of the old is not easy when there is so much fear and money invested in the current system.

Here is a crazy idea that comes from the old Chinese system that paid their practitioners for assisting their patients to be healthy and then to maintain vibrant, vital health. Maybe it is time to think outside the box and move beyond the old model of healing the sick to a new model that primarily rewards those in the health care industry for assisting people in living healthy lives. This may not be practical in today’s world but it is an intriguing thought…

The Solar Eclipse of the Century and The Eclipses of July/August 2009

Monday, July 6th, 2009

by Daniel Giamario

When determined by length (six minutes 39 seconds) and centrality (the umbra only 275 miles north of the center of the earth) the total solar eclipse of July 21 through July 22 is rightly called the Solar Eclipse of the Century. None will surpass it until 2114. This solar eclipse is part of Saros Cycle 136 that has produced the longest eclipses over the last several hundred years. The term Saros refers to a “family” of eclipses that repeat about every 18 years and 11 days. This particular Saros began in June of 1360 and finishes up in July of 2622, a total of 71 eclipses over 1262 years. This Saros cycle gave us the longest total solar eclipses of the last century, including the only three eclipses over seven minutes long in 1937, 1955 and 1973. Every eclipse in this family from 1901 until 2063 is over six minutes, a length justifying the title “Great Eclipse”. (more…)

Venus Cycle exploring Aries April 3, 2009 to November 4, 2010

dec-2007-050

By Sao

On April 3 a very powerful Venus-in-Aries cycle began; it will continue for 584 days, approximately a year and nine months. Because this is Venus, The Feminine Principle, this cycle invites and inspires women to explore and express a new, deeper, more powerful aspect of themselves, and this is equally true for men as regards their inner feminine.

This cycle invites us to summon the courage to be adventurous, to explore radically new ways of Living, and to trust The Very Spirit of Life. (more…)

Venus in Aries Archetypal Integration from April 3, 2009 to Nov 4, 2010

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

The archetypal expression that most describes Venus in Aries is the Warrior Amazon. However, back in 1995 a primary archetype Shamanic Astrology connected to Aries was the Wild Woman. What follows is an article I wrote in 2001 at the last Venus in Aries Cycle describing the essence of the Wild Woman. As a Venus in Aries person myself I found myself identifying with the Wild Woman then and perhaps even more so now eight years later. Here is what I wrote then….

The definition of Wild in the case of the Wild Woman means: a natural, unrestrained life or state; occurring, growing or living in a natural state; intensely enthusiastic; amazing or extraordinary. The healthy Wild Woman lives from a place of pure innocence and knowing, unrestrained by the limiting rules and judgments of the current culture. She knows when she is connected to her inner sense of self or her true self, and from this place she spontaneously acts in a natural and supportive way. Radical Changes abound in 2009

An Overview of 2009 by Cayelin K Castell

Great Spirit, thank you for granting me the serenity and grace to accept life… on life’s terms;
Along with the courage to graciously and easily change what is mine to change;
And the supreme wisdom to trust the perfection of what is happening in every moment ~ Cayelin K Castell

I am grateful that I am usually able to accept what IS and roll with the flow of what is unfolding. However, I still resist accepting myself when feeling challenged and I am not always able to accept everything that happens either. The above prayer came to me as the result of the circumstances I faced this December while writing the January 2009 Celestial Timings. (more…)

Jupiter In Aquarius 2009

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

JupiterJupiter moved into the sign of Aquarius on January 5 and will remain in Aquarius until January 19, 2010. In some cultures, Jupiter was known as the “year star” since it took almost exactly a year to move through a sign or constellation. It is interesting to note that the original Chinese calendar was based on the movement of Jupiter through the 12 constellations along the Celestial Equator (or where the Earth’s Equator is located in Space). In Shamanic Astrology, Jupiter activates and expands anything it contacts and by sign is illuminating the year’s leading edge for Global Humanity.

The glyph or symbol for Aquarius shows two waves . One wave represents the zeal for radical uniqueness, which historically has almost always aligned with the progressive, avant-garde, egalitarian, and universal ideals of humanity. The other wave represents the specific spiritual orientation of Aquarius: objective awareness, or the ability to locate the cosmic overview, the “high” or fair witness, like a great eagle that flies closest to Great Spirit.

I am perceiving the purpose of Jupiter in Aquarius, the dharma of this year, to be mature “grown-up” idealism (see Elizabeth Debold’s article in Enlighten NEXT magazine). May humanity awaken, to higher love, higher law, and higher truth with universal ideals! Allegiance to these values is neither childish or naïve at this time of the Turning of the Ages. Rather, it is the objective and realistic perception of the truth of who we are.

Equinox Archeoastronomy

Stone Building at the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School in San Xavier, Arizona.

equinox-john-dumas-2008Today (Sep 22, 2008) was full of great joy in connecting the “As Above So Below” onto the land that has been set up as an experiential exploration of dreaming, designing, and constructing astronomical key alignments to the landscape. Synchronicity, sweat, and of course my Virgo Moon played a major role in today’s magical dance of light and shadow.

I really got excited about archeoastronomy when I first went to Fishlake Valley, Nevada, a site that Daniel Giamario, our school founder, discovered years ago. I’ll never forget finding an unnaturally smooth stone that looked like it had been sat on for hundreds of years. By siting on it and lining up two large stones with a notch that was cut out, with the mountain on the far horizon, I was able to predict where the sunrise would occur on the equinox. Testing out my theory the next morning proved my hunch correct and sealed my passion around this ancient science. (more…)

Celebrating the Equinoxes

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

The equinoxes are the seasonal time of balance and harmony when the days and nights are equal in length. During the equinoxes, the Earth’s auric or magnetic field is affected by the Sun’s alignment with the Earth’s equator. Twice each year, at the equinoxes, the Sun rises and sets exactly over the equator remaining closely aligned there for approximately 48 hours. The equinox solar affect produces a reduction in the magnetic field of the Earth, allowing us to connect more easily with other dimensions. (more…)

Understanding the Blue Moon

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

In a recent Sky and Telescope article we learn the original definition of a Blue Moon is referring to 4 Full Moons in one season. In this instance a season is defined as the blue-moontime between a Solstice and Equinox or an Equinox and Solstice. (See Table below) There are four seasons in a year and generally three Full Moons in each season or 12 Full Moons per year. Occasionally we find there are 4 Full Moons in one season and 13 Full Moons in a year marking the annual solar and lunar cycle from December Solstice to Solstice.

If we look at the year 2009 we only have 12 Full Moons in that calendar year from Jan 1 to Dec 31. However, if we consider the number of Full Moons from the December Solstice in 2009 to the December Solstice in 2010 we find there are 13 Full Moons. This is not always the case! For example, in 2007 we had 13 Full Moons in the calendar year but only 12 Full Moons from December Solstice 2006 to December Solstice 2007. (See Table below) (more…)
