This sacred site is well over 2,000 years old and is relatively untouched – a vast hierophany, with hundreds of petroglyphs including Solstice and Equinox and Lunar Stand Still alignments.
The Shamanic Astrology Mystery School is returning for a Cosmology/Night Sky intensive. Many Night Sky classes happened here over the years exploring this Living Mystery School. It is our privilege to return – to again learn from and honor the mysteries captured in the land and sky at this site. This class will count towards certification on the Cosmology/Night Sky track.

NEW MATERIAL: As an added bonus to this Beginning Night Sky Cosmology Intensive, Daniel will share some of his latest research on the precessional cycle and global cosmology. New developments and discoveries can now track all the way back to the Age of Scorpio, 17-18,000 years ago, when the star Deneb, in Cygnus was the North Star.
Where: In Western Nevada, roughly halfway between Reno and Las Vegas (full details of specific location will only be given after registration of event. Closest major town is Tonopah, NV.
When: Sept 1-4, 2017. The first day will begin in the afternoon of the 1st. Sept 2nd and 3rd will be full day intensives and the last day concludes in the early afternoon.
Food and Lodging Details: This is a wilderness camp. You will be responsible for bringing your own food and water for the duration of the event. You will also be responsible for bringing your own tent or mobile sleeping vehicle Cell phone service is not available in this area so be prepared to be out of contact via e-mail, text or mobile phone for 3-4 days. These is a small town, Dyer, within 15-20 miles, in case of an emergency.

Mercury around 28 – 29 Leo, near Regulus, will be retrograde in the Morning sky, just before turning direct on Sep 5. Mercury is in the final days of its Aries overtone, birthing into its Leo overtone on Sep 5. Mercury will have just barely risen in the Morning sky, is conjoining Mars, and may be observable.
Venus will travel from 8 – 11 Leo in the Morning sky around 30 degrees above the horizon, in the Aries overtone that began just after Spring Equinox. Our event occurs after the Venus Morning star 5th gate, and 3rd chakra initiation (power/will/manifestation) just before the August New Moon.
Mars will be in the 28 – 29 Leo area, very near Regulus and really close to Mars with an exact conjunction at 28 Leo 43. Mars is just about to complete his Underworld phase that began on June 7. Mars is now slowly edging away from the glow of the Sun and attains 15 degree separation from the Sun on Sep 11, to begin Phase 4 of the current Mars synodic cycle overtone of Sagittarius.
It’s extremely doubtful that Mars will be visible, however, with Mercury so close, it might be naked eye visible, definitely with binoculars. We will have pretty clear and dark morning skies and a fairly low Eastern horizon.
When Mars rises in the East on Sep 11 (possibly visible sooner) Mars will see Venus just above him in the Morning sky and then conjoin within 10 degrees with her from Sep 20 – Oct 23. This is the morning sky chapter of the current interaction between Venus and Mars, known as the Great Saga, something that repeats every 6 ½ years, or about every 77 months.
Jupiter will be around 22 Libra 30 and about 40 degrees above the Western horizon in the Evening sky. Jupiter is again very close to the great bright star Spica, in the Priestess constellation.
Spica is, historically and mythically, the most important star to the mystery teachings of the Sacred Feminine, and is the stellar stand-in for the planet Venus.
Saturn will be at about 21 Sagittarius and around 100 degrees above the horizon in the Morning sky. Saturn is located between the Scorpion and the Archer, and will soon approach and then pass Galactic Center by mid-December.
Because the Moon is approaching Full Moon on September 6, our evening gatherings will have bright moonlight, and thus not entirely dark skies. However, the early Morning sky will be without lunar obscuration. Perhaps we will have one or two classes before sunrise!
For sure, this time-frame and sacred location, will be the perfect place for anyone desiring to complete their all night “astrological vision quest” requirement towards certification.
