Dancing in the Dark at December Solstice 2011

by Teresa Kelly

December 2011 Solstice occurs on December 22 at 12:30 a.m. eastern standard time. It is the shortest day of the year. Solstice is the time when the sun appears to stand still for three days on the horizon. This pause feels like a still point, like the pause of a pendulum before it swings. Imagine how it appeared to the ancients as the sunlight slowly diminished and the sun appeared to be stuck in the same place on the horizon.  The ancients marked the seasonal points as the year turned and learned to have faith in the return of the light as part of the rhythms of the natural world. The Winter Solstice was celebrated as the return of the Sun. The ensuing gradual lengthening of days signaled all was well and the cycles of the seasons continued. Read More

I base these observations and reflections on the history of this transit and on the experiences of my clients since the beginning of this cycle in October of 2009. These observations are seen within the context of the intent of the transit, as proposed by the paradigm of the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School.  Read More

Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Hawaii and Shamanic Astrology

by Daniel Giamario

I am writing this from the most extreme western tip of SW Ireland, on the Dingle peninsula of county Kerry. I am here until the end of May doing research and writing projects.

Scotland and Germany
I am also planning two side trips. One trip is returning to Callanish, on the Isle of Lewis in NW Scotland to visit Margaret Curtis and the Standing Stones for at least the 7th time.

My second trip is to visit a group of women in Bavaria, known as the Priestesses of Spica. Yes, Spica is that star in the constellation of the Virgin Priestess that I always intuited was the most important star represented the mysteries of the sacred feminine. And they agree! Read More

by Daniel Giamario

Total Lunar Eclipse images

On the night of December 20th, a group of 12 inspired, dedicated, and celebratory men and women gathered at my home near the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School in Southern Arizona to hold vigil for the total Lunar Eclipse occurring just hours before the December Solstice. Though the night started out a bit cloudy, we were fortunate that the clouds lifted during totality and it was also a relatively warm night. Read More
