Capricorn Full Moon – July 2021

~by Levi Banner

The Full Moon is in Capricorn, the sign of foundational, consistency aimed at lasting for generations. At its best, Capricorn is an expert with the respect from the community and the responsibility it takes to make solid forms that last lifetimes.

Any Full Moon is a great time to experience the fruits of your labors if you planted seeds of intention two weeks ago at the New Moon.

When in Capricorn, it’s good to have the richest soil prepared to allow for the deepest roots. This will allow the seeds to grow into massive trees.

Remember the mighty oak tree comes out of a mere acorn. It just takes time and the correct conditions to realize its potential.

So now you can see:

Consistency is the key to be free.

Did you do the work to feel fruition right now? Or are you seeing that you lacked followthrough or even the foundation to begin?

This Capricorn Full Moon illuminates the choices you make and the integrity of following through on commitments.

Tuning into the moon’s constant rhythms and practical wisdom can help ground you and integrate the lessons.

Make your choices based on facts and if you can honestly say that what you put your effort into will have the consistency to sustain itself longterm. You know?! Practice makes perfect and all of that… You might recognize that now.

So if you stepped into your most responsible and practical self and set your goals from this place, then our efforts might be blossoming and blooming into some delicious fruits about now. Enjoy them!

Capricorn can also overcommit, take too much on or over identify with their caregiver roles. At it’’s best, Capricorn is more of a wise elder that is watching everything grow around them as they’ve done the work it takes to delegate tasks to others. That’s what this Full Moon is about. Enjoy It!

The Full Moon is exact at 2:39am Bali Time on June 25 in 3 degrees of Capricorn. Though it’s really a three day window, the day before and the day after. Anytime within this window is a great time to do your ceremony, meditations, or journaling to tune into the lunar wisdom.

Ramblings, Reflections, and Ruminations from Daniel Giamario – June 2021

A Very “Mercurial” Annular Solar Eclipse by Daniel Giamario

As we approach the end of the first eclipse season of the year with the Annular (Ring) Eclipse on Thursday, let’s check in on a few of its most interesting features.

The Eclipse occurs at 6:53AM EDT…included is the chart for Philadelphia, Pa, the site of the Declaration of Independence.  Also on Thursday is the exact Sun conjunct Mercury (6:13PM EDT) and the Moon conjunct Mercury at 8:37AM EDT.  A reminder that the US Mars is 21Gemini22 and the DSC is 13Gemini10.  And a reminder that this is a North Node eclipse, making it future oriented.  So why a “Mercurial” eclipse?  And of further interest, the US Mercury is actually retrograde at 24Cancer11, with a Pisces synodic overtone, with the hermetic evening star phase, and just beginning the alchemical metamorphosis from the Pisces to Cancer.

The Sun/Mercury conjunction is a super important point in the alchemical metamorphosis of the Aquarian synodic overtone of Mercury into Gemini, fully developed at the Stationary direct point on June 22nd at 18Gemini08.

The word “mercurial” certainly is a wonderful word that captures most all of the essence of Mercury/Hermes, and particularly the Gemini synodic overtone.  An on-line dictionary begins with the words: eloquence, ingenuity, and thievishness; followed by unpredictable changeableness.  Other synonyms follow including: capricious, fickle, fluid, inconsistent, mutable, skittish, temperamental, unstable, unsteady, volatile, and variable.  Sound like Mercury in Gemini retrograde???  Just wait for the full synodic cycle after June 22nd!  It also reminds me a lot of one of the three main shadows of the United States (as I have written and spoke about a lot recently).

The annular eclipse offers many ceremonial opportunities, whether you can see it or not.  Those of you in Eastern and Central Canada have quite a good view, and the Northeast US gets a great partial eclipse, where the Sun at sunrise is already partially eclipted.  Philadelphia gets a 71% partial eclipse, for example.  See the chart of the path included.  A solar eclipse is a super new moon, and can be worked with as a tremendous seed planting time for at least six months, and maybe as long as 3-4 years.  This is a presaging of the quadruple cross of 4 eclipses over the US from 2023-2024, involving the solar eclipses of 2012, 2017, 2023, and 2024.    See my current vlogcast for more information.

Being a North Node eclipse, there is a great potential for envisioning a better future.  But, in the partial phase, prior to totality, place the greatest emphasis on the past shadow of Gemini, personal and collectively, with a strong emphasis on the actual historic behavior of the US, honestly and objectively, without any propaganda.  And then, at the nearly 4 minutes of annularity, imagine a portal appearing, through which new bursts of creativity, vision and imagination stream through, from outside the galaxy, by way of the galactic edge, where souls pass by the gates of duality and polarity.  Should you witness this, the flames and radiance of the Sun’s corona, clearly seen around the Moon, can represent the brilliance of celestial creativity.  Following the time of totality, then its seed planting time, at least for the next 6 months; but considering what is coming, I suggest envisioning through 2025, as this eclipse season presages the upcoming quadruple-cross of 2023 and 2024.  This is the most “active magic” portion of a super new moon total eclipse, where we can co-create with “Great Mystery”.

A Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius by Levi Banner

Where I am in Bali it will happen juuuust after sunset (moonrise) on May 25. All the way to the United States where it will happen just before sunrise (moonset) on May 26.

Wherever you are, if it’s visible or not, you will feel it.

It’s also an important time for ceremony. So if you can see it, I highly suggest to view it and honor it in your own special way.

A lunar Eclipse is when the earth is exactly between the Sun and the Moon, quite literally blocking the Sun’s light from reflecting off of the Full Moon. Instead of the brightness of the Moon’s light at night, we see the earth’s shadow projected instead.

It appears as if you can see the entire month’s lunar cycle in a couple of hours. Where as the actual totality of this eclipse lasts only 14 minutes.

Indeed a potent time for ceremony. A meditation for example during that 14 minutes would be extra powerful.

One eclipse is always followed by a second. So in two weeks there will be an Annular Solar Eclipse in the opposite sign of Gemini. This is when the moon will cross directly in front of the Sun and block out the light of day.

Between these two weeks is like a window of time where you feel the effects of the eclipse energy in your daily life.

This Full Moon we will enter into a two week eclipse portal where the shadows can come out and deep healing can take place.

Eclipses always bring up the shadows. That’s literally what they are in the sky. A block in the light and shadows cast. You can more easily see what’s beneath the surface during these times.

This two week portal is where our deepest fears, blocks and hesitations can be looked at and let go of.

Eclipses are always close to the Lunar Nodes. This lunar eclipse is near the South Node and gives us a tremendous clue on what the nature of this alignment is.

The South Node is more oriented towards our past and therefore letting go of what no longer serves us and collecting what is useful that we’ve learned to move on with.

The sign that the eclipse is in also has a major influence on the energy. The sign of Sagittarius is what is being accented.

Sagittarius is the sign of exploration, expansion, adventure, philosophy and seeking higher truth and knowledge.

The shadows of Sagittarius are generally fundamentalism or restlessness.

Like when someone obtains a truth and attaches to it. Without a desire to evolve or produce new forms of truth, the truth then expires. Some forms of truth are always changing.

Another shadow is the restlessness of the sag archetype. Sag is the only one that when a group gets to the top of the mountain, they are still looking for another mountain top. Sometimes it’s a good time to enjoy the view that only comes from an epic journey up that mountain.

It’s time to let go of these versions of Sagittarius that are no longer useful.

What is your truth? What is no longer true for you?

What is uncharted territory for you? What is stuck?

It’s time to release what no longer serves you and enter this space of finding deeper meaning and higher truths.

This is indeed a potent portal we are all entering.

If you have any inner planets or personal angles in your natal birth chart at 0-15 degrees Sagittarius or Gemini, then you are very personally being activated by this current eclipse.

On a bigger picture this eclipse is part of a much larger cycle called a “Saros”. I’ve learned from my teachers at the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School, Daniel Giamario and Erik Roth, that this is actually the very last total eclipse in a Saros that started in 1029 and ends in 2526. And that these cycles are linked through 18 years. Three of them reach 54 years which has a deeper relationship.

All this eclipse patterning is intimately linked with the Lunar Nodes. 18 years ago in May 2003 there was an eclipse in this same overall Saros, and 18 years before that as well. Though the third is more important. Every 54 years the eclipse cycle returns to a very similar place in how it faces the earth. So this current eclipse is similar to the one on April 24, 1967 as it’s in this same triad of 18 years and in the same family of eclipses called Saros 121.

Ramblings, Reflections, and Ruminations from Daniel Giamario – May 2021

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CHART OF THE UNITED STATES– PART TWO”

For this Part Two, I plan to cover three topics.  First will be a look at how the upcoming Eclipse season impacts the US chart.  Then an investigation of the amazing and utterly unique situation with how the eclipses of 2017, 2023, and 2024, cross over the United States, which we can call the “Triple Cross”.  This part will include the stunning zodiacal connections.  The last section will place the United States into the larger context of its unique saeculum, and the Fourth Turning, which the US is in the final few years of.

THE US CHART and the UPCOMING ECLIPSE SEASON   Section One

There are two eclipse seasons each year, separated by about 6 months.  The first one in 2021 is from May 26th-June 10th, featuring a total lunar eclipse and an annular solar eclipse.  The second 2021 eclipse season is November 19th-December 4th, featuring a partial lunar eclipse and a total solar eclipse of nearly 2 minutes length.  At least 3 of these eclipses appear to have strong connections with the US chart and can indeed foreshadow or presage the Pluto and Chiron returns written about in the Part One article, as well as having great relevance to the other 2021 aspects to the US chart.

The May 26th Lunar Eclipse:  Although not visible in the US, the South Node at 10Sagittarius43 is nearly conjunct the US ASC.  The Sun at 5Gemini25 is very close to the US Uranus, and the Full Moon at 5Sagittarius25 is also near the US ASC.  The nodal axis is in alignment with the US DSC/ASC axis, which always signifies past and future destiny, a linkage between fate and original intent.  Meanwhile during this first 2021 eclipse season Saturn continues its transit to the US South Node, and Jupiter continues its transit to the US Moon.

The June 10th Annular Solar eclipse will sweep through Canada and just briefly touch the edge of Northern Michigan.  Annular solar eclipses are underrated.  The syzygy is as exact as a total solar eclipse; only the Moon is just slightly too small to cover the whole of the Sun, creating a unique ring of fire effect.  At 19Gemini47, this super new moon will also align really close to the US ASC/DSC axis of 13Sag10/13Gemini10, as well as a pretty close conjunction with the US Mars.  Transiting Mars has just recently passed over the US Mars, and also the US Jupiter, Venus, Sun and Mercury.

The December 4th Total Solar eclipse, though not visible in the US, is also quite fascinating relative to the US chart.  Happening at 12Sagittarius22, it’s within one degree of the US ASC at 13Sag10.  The North Node is 1Gemini44, marking this as a North Node forward looking super new moon, as was the June 10th eclipse.  As Pluto is closing in on natal Pluto, with the final Saturn square Uranus about to happen later in the month, and Jupiter making its final pass over the US Moon; I think events surrounding this second eclipse season of 2021, centering on the Dec.4th eclipse, will establish in a major way, which way things turn for the USA, as we now dive deeper with the 2023 and 2024 eclipses.

THE 2023 and 2024 ECLIPSE TRIPLE CROSS   Section Two

The eclipse seasons of 2021, and the Jupiter and Saturn initiatory cycles to the US chart are mere forerunners of what is to come.  Part One detailed the Pluto and Chiron returns.  Now we will look at one of the most remarkable coming phenomena that I have ever encountered.  Three different solar eclipses, two total and one annular, in the short space of seven years, will create three crosses over the continental US.

We all remember the marvelous total solar eclipse back on August 21, 2017.  A number of us in SAMS gathered in Oregon to witness it.  This eclipse, beginning at 5:48AM at sunrise just west of Portland in the Pacific Ocean, then traversed the entirety of the continental US from Oregon, through the heart of America, exiting over South Carolina into the Atlantic.  Although lasting but 2minutes and 40 seconds of totality, it was witnessed by many millions across the US, and was quite the sensation.  Chart-wise, this eclipse took place at 28Leo50, a North Node eclipse, with the nodal axis at 24Leo13/24Aquarius13.  This was closely in opposition to the US Moon, with the South Node also close.  We can also notice how connected this is to Donald Trump’s ASC of 29Leo and his Mars at 26Leo.  Those connections in greater detail have been covered elsewhere.

THE FIRST CROSS

On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse, at about 6:10AM, will arise in a similar area of the Pacific Ocean west of Oregon, then travelling through Oregon over Eugene, then over parts of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, then through the Yucatan, parts of Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, and finally the Brazilian Amazon, and exiting over the Atlantic Ocean.  Some significant locations in annularity include Kayenta, Window Rock, Roswell and Los Alamos.

The two eclipse tracks cross just off the Oregon coast. This area has a major fault-line that has generated massive tsunami’s that inundated the Northern West coast only several hundred years ago.  This Solar Eclipse occurs at 21Libra08, with over 4 minutes of annularity.  This is a South Node eclipse, with the nodes at 24Aries52/24Libra52, really close to the US Chiron.  The Eclipse degree is pretty close to the US Saturn.  At the time of the eclipse, Chiron is 17Aries31.  But most importantly, at the time of the eclipse, Pluto, at 27Capricorn53, is squaring the nodes and near EXACT conjunct the US Pluto, the US having been in its Pluto Return from January22, 2022.  (This uses the orb for a person, whilst many of us feel that the Pluto return of the US, as a country, actually could be seen to begin in 2021 and continue into 2024).

THE SECOND CROSS

Back in 2017, it was pretty well known that the path of the eclipse would intersect with the path of another total eclipse of even greater duration (4 minutes and 28 seconds) that would also traverse a large portion of the continental US.  On April 8th, 2024, at about 6:41AM, in the Pacific Ocean, the path of totality crosses Mexico over places like Mazatlan and Durango, and then through Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, and Northeast Canada, exiting into the North Atlantic from Nova Scotia.  Many large cities will fall under the umbra.  Quite likely, even more people will witness this eclipse.

The second cross happens over Carbondale, Illinois and the whole general area of the New Madrid Earthquake fault.  Many things have been, and will be written about this.  This fault-line, near the Mississippi River, was the location of the largest earthquake in US history in 1812.

This eclipse happens at 19Aries24, with the nodal axis at 15Aries37/15Libra37, and is a North Node Eclipse.  It’s nearly opposite the degree of the 2023 eclipse.  But what is incredible, is that the eclipse is exactly conjunct Chiron at 19Aries24.  The US has Chiron at 20Aries08, and in the throes of its fifth Chiron Return.  It’s hard to make this kind of stuff up.  (See the two Sabian symbols for 20 Aries below)  The transiting South Node is also conjunct the US Saturn.  Meanwhile, Pluto has, by now, entered into Aquarius.

THE THIRD CROSS

Considerably less well known, is a third cross.  The path of the 2024 eclipse will cross the path of the 2023 eclipse in Texas, directly over San Angelo.  San Antonio very nearly gets to be in the cross.  As this is written in May of 2021, consider the significance of Texas in light of the primary global narrative unfolding now.  If you consider the included diagram of the three crosses, notice the shape and any possible meaning there.  There are many clues.  It will certainly be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

“THE FOURTH TURNING”   Section Three

To develop a larger context for understanding the possible meaning and intent of all this, I now turn to a rather important source of information for me; a book written in 1997 called “The Fourth Turning” (by William Strauss and Neil Howe).  In addition to providing a new context for the Timeline material in the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm ™, it also provides an amazingly useful view of United States history.  There is no astrology in the book, but it’s remarkably useful nonetheless.  Sometime ago I reviewed this book in the newsletter.

In summary, the authors use the ancient Etruscan concept of the saeculum, a time period of about 90 years, a concept that originated from when they noticed that at any given time, the oldest respected elder was about 90 years old.  They then also noticed that within that same 90 years, four generations would come and go.

This has a marvelously useful application to US history (and apparently all of Europe and even China, but not Russia).  For example, a fourth turning has occurred about every 90 years or so, at a really major turning point in US and European history.  The American Revolution was at a Fourth Turning from 1773-1794.  The US Civil War was a Fourth Turning 1860-1865.  And the next Fourth Turning was the Great Depression and WW2 circa 1929-1946.  The current Fourth Turning began with 9/11/2001 and is speculated to end around 2025.  Totally fascinating that this corresponds to the US Pluto and Chiron returns.  The triple cross eclipses over America should certainly get our attention, if we are willing to look at history.  Each Fourth Turning for the US has resulted in a total shift into a different national paradigm.  But none have been with these additional factors.  What can we expect?

Will it be the death of the American experiment?  Will it be another revolution, and the breakup of the US as we have known it?  Will it be something like post WW2 with the Cancerian development of the largest middle class ever?  Will it be the sellout of the Black population after the Civil War?  Or will the dominant energy of Saturn and then Pluto in Aquarius implement the technocratic, trans-humanist, top-down, Homo Sapiens 2.0, Great Re-set agenda of the New World Order?  Or instead, maybe a Great Awakening, with the restoration of Primal Earth/Gaia, and a commitment to personal autonomy and sovereignty, with the greater emphasis on our humanity and connection to Spirit, Divinity, and with the capacity to co-create with Great Mystery.  I vote for that one!

Just as in 2017, SAMS produced a summit called “Preparing for 2020”; in the same vein, I write these articles to prepare us for 2022-2025.  It’s way better to be aware of all this, and learn from history.  Awareness of all possibilities can help enable our ability to use the “Three World’s Approach” and to be better able to apprehend what role each of us, individually, is to play, as we align with our life purpose and take our place on the mandala of life.

SABIAN SYMBOLS FOR 20ARIES

From Rudhyar:

PHASE 20 (ARIES 20°): A YOUNG GIRL FEEDING BIRDS IN WINTER.

KEYNOTE: Overcoming crises through compassion.

Nature’s seasonal rhythms imply an oscillation between living and dying. Through creative imagination man can “fly over” the cycle, and discover means not only to escape from the fatality of seasonal decay or deprivation, but to assist other living entities to survive through crises. Migrating birds fly south (cf. symbol of Aries 12°), but by establishing a partnership with other creatures unable to escape wintry deprivation or death, man can maintain the life of the spirit (symbolized by birds) steady through all crises if, like a “young girl,” he is widely open to the promptings of love and sympathy.

At this fifth stage of the symbolic sequence we witness human activity motivated by sympathy overcoming the seasonal phase of impotency. Life potency in nature spirits reaches a higher level in the human being.  The theme is THE TRANSMUTATION OF LIFE INTO LOVE.

From Lonsdale:

ARIES 20:   An empty courtyard.

Nothing is left.  Reality is scattered.  Self-obliterated.  The familiar rendered irrelevant. Apocalyptic changes, personal and collective, take over.  No being, only action.  You become a projectile of intent, literally identify with what you can do now.  A barren wasteland of an inner world.  A thrust outside. Stark and surreal.  You feel compelled to dare, pushed over the edge, no going back–destiny as frenzy. And in this wild, volatile mix, creative forces are released that would never come out any other way.  Yielding to the role of the purging and cleansing agent of changes, you are unable to wriggle out of anything ever again.

Taurus and Cancer Activation

Mars in Cancer, Venus in Taurus, Sun in Taurus, Mercury in Taurus

We are approaching the season of Taurus, beginning on April 19th when the Sun reaches 30 degrees beyond the Vernal Equinox point.  The inner planets, consisting of Mercury, Venus and Mars all shift signs within nine days of each other as well as the Sun.

The Sun being in Taurus by itself is far from the only factor of what we experience astrologically.  Each year will be a bit different in its expression due to the sign locations and aspects of the planets during the season.  But a general character or essence of what is coming up can be explored.  In this article, I’ll be exploring the upcoming transits of the Sun and inner planets along with notable and historical figures that were born with the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Taurus and Mars in Cancer.

Taurus is a sign that has its essence rooted in the middle of spring when the colors of plants and birds are at a lush point.  It is an active, sensually pleasing time and a real flowering of life itself.  In people, Taurus represents receiving the pleasures and comforts of life, from personal intimacy to artistic expression with the physical realm.

Taurus is an experiential sign in the physical senses, deepening our understanding of aesthetics and sensuality.  But it is also tied to the physical security of comforts and pleasures, including the resources to hold onto them.  In Western Astrology (especially Sun-sign astrology), Taurus is typically seen as stubborn, unchangeable and materialistic.  That is more of the “shadow” qualities of Taurus and only part of the sign’s reality.

A healthy Taurus energy is the ability to savor the pleasures of life without excess, knowing where to draw the line.  Taurus is also a about subtleties in touch, sight, smell, taste and sound.  It is in really knowing (in the body) what feels good from the sensation-functions (not to be confused with emotions).

Personalness is also a Taurus quality, especially in intimacy.  In that process, which is broad in scope, Taurus connects with the chi of pleasures of sensations.

There is also polarity of Taurus that encompasses vanity and narcissism of varying degrees in the same astrological modalities as Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius (with different expressions of it).  These generally show up in unhealthy ways, especially if taken to excess.

This Taurus period begins to ebb on May 3rd, when Mercury ingresses into the sign of Gemini, then May 8th when Venus joins Mercury in that sign.

Mars, symbolizing the masculine principle in shamanic astrology, enters the sign of Cancer on April 23rd (through June 11th).  Cancer symbolizes family nourishment, compassion and empathy and this sign is a provider of safe, protective spaces.  It is vastly different from Taurus in that it is a “giving” sign and is highly concerned with the health and safety of others, primarily in the community and family or tribe.

The sign of Cancer bears the cultural burden of caring for the culture itself.  Cancer can take on those burdens personally as it fulfills their role in life.  Known as the “mother” archetype, Cancer plays a critical role in families and communities and cultures survive with compassionate understanding where in many situations it may not exist.  Cancer can also show up as a fierce defender of progeny and community as well as tradition.

It is quite a different contrast from the self-exploratory of pleasure that Taurus symbolizes.  But Mars in the “giving” role through the heart may be helpful in combination with Taurus for a softer energy in the human collective.  However, the shadow of Cancer in the masculine can be unyielding of a perceived notion of tradition and security to protect the tribe, even at the sacrifice of healthy change.

Another unhealthy side of Cancer can be (like Capricorn) taking on too much responsibility for the family, workplace and community.  This can lead to breakdowns and illnesses when the Cancer archetype lacks balance.

With these inner planets (and the Sun) representing a short-term transit, they are operating within the astrological themes of a Uranus-Saturn square and Pluto-Eris square.
