Ramblings, Reflections, and Ruminations from Daniel Giamario – May 2021

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CHART OF THE UNITED STATES– PART TWO”

For this Part Two, I plan to cover three topics.  First will be a look at how the upcoming Eclipse season impacts the US chart.  Then an investigation of the amazing and utterly unique situation with how the eclipses of 2017, 2023, and 2024, cross over the United States, which we can call the “Triple Cross”.  This part will include the stunning zodiacal connections.  The last section will place the United States into the larger context of its unique saeculum, and the Fourth Turning, which the US is in the final few years of.

THE US CHART and the UPCOMING ECLIPSE SEASON   Section One

There are two eclipse seasons each year, separated by about 6 months.  The first one in 2021 is from May 26th-June 10th, featuring a total lunar eclipse and an annular solar eclipse.  The second 2021 eclipse season is November 19th-December 4th, featuring a partial lunar eclipse and a total solar eclipse of nearly 2 minutes length.  At least 3 of these eclipses appear to have strong connections with the US chart and can indeed foreshadow or presage the Pluto and Chiron returns written about in the Part One article, as well as having great relevance to the other 2021 aspects to the US chart.

The May 26th Lunar Eclipse:  Although not visible in the US, the South Node at 10Sagittarius43 is nearly conjunct the US ASC.  The Sun at 5Gemini25 is very close to the US Uranus, and the Full Moon at 5Sagittarius25 is also near the US ASC.  The nodal axis is in alignment with the US DSC/ASC axis, which always signifies past and future destiny, a linkage between fate and original intent.  Meanwhile during this first 2021 eclipse season Saturn continues its transit to the US South Node, and Jupiter continues its transit to the US Moon.

The June 10th Annular Solar eclipse will sweep through Canada and just briefly touch the edge of Northern Michigan.  Annular solar eclipses are underrated.  The syzygy is as exact as a total solar eclipse; only the Moon is just slightly too small to cover the whole of the Sun, creating a unique ring of fire effect.  At 19Gemini47, this super new moon will also align really close to the US ASC/DSC axis of 13Sag10/13Gemini10, as well as a pretty close conjunction with the US Mars.  Transiting Mars has just recently passed over the US Mars, and also the US Jupiter, Venus, Sun and Mercury.

The December 4th Total Solar eclipse, though not visible in the US, is also quite fascinating relative to the US chart.  Happening at 12Sagittarius22, it’s within one degree of the US ASC at 13Sag10.  The North Node is 1Gemini44, marking this as a North Node forward looking super new moon, as was the June 10th eclipse.  As Pluto is closing in on natal Pluto, with the final Saturn square Uranus about to happen later in the month, and Jupiter making its final pass over the US Moon; I think events surrounding this second eclipse season of 2021, centering on the Dec.4th eclipse, will establish in a major way, which way things turn for the USA, as we now dive deeper with the 2023 and 2024 eclipses.

THE 2023 and 2024 ECLIPSE TRIPLE CROSS   Section Two

The eclipse seasons of 2021, and the Jupiter and Saturn initiatory cycles to the US chart are mere forerunners of what is to come.  Part One detailed the Pluto and Chiron returns.  Now we will look at one of the most remarkable coming phenomena that I have ever encountered.  Three different solar eclipses, two total and one annular, in the short space of seven years, will create three crosses over the continental US.

We all remember the marvelous total solar eclipse back on August 21, 2017.  A number of us in SAMS gathered in Oregon to witness it.  This eclipse, beginning at 5:48AM at sunrise just west of Portland in the Pacific Ocean, then traversed the entirety of the continental US from Oregon, through the heart of America, exiting over South Carolina into the Atlantic.  Although lasting but 2minutes and 40 seconds of totality, it was witnessed by many millions across the US, and was quite the sensation.  Chart-wise, this eclipse took place at 28Leo50, a North Node eclipse, with the nodal axis at 24Leo13/24Aquarius13.  This was closely in opposition to the US Moon, with the South Node also close.  We can also notice how connected this is to Donald Trump’s ASC of 29Leo and his Mars at 26Leo.  Those connections in greater detail have been covered elsewhere.

THE FIRST CROSS

On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse, at about 6:10AM, will arise in a similar area of the Pacific Ocean west of Oregon, then travelling through Oregon over Eugene, then over parts of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, then through the Yucatan, parts of Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, and finally the Brazilian Amazon, and exiting over the Atlantic Ocean.  Some significant locations in annularity include Kayenta, Window Rock, Roswell and Los Alamos.

The two eclipse tracks cross just off the Oregon coast. This area has a major fault-line that has generated massive tsunami’s that inundated the Northern West coast only several hundred years ago.  This Solar Eclipse occurs at 21Libra08, with over 4 minutes of annularity.  This is a South Node eclipse, with the nodes at 24Aries52/24Libra52, really close to the US Chiron.  The Eclipse degree is pretty close to the US Saturn.  At the time of the eclipse, Chiron is 17Aries31.  But most importantly, at the time of the eclipse, Pluto, at 27Capricorn53, is squaring the nodes and near EXACT conjunct the US Pluto, the US having been in its Pluto Return from January22, 2022.  (This uses the orb for a person, whilst many of us feel that the Pluto return of the US, as a country, actually could be seen to begin in 2021 and continue into 2024).

THE SECOND CROSS

Back in 2017, it was pretty well known that the path of the eclipse would intersect with the path of another total eclipse of even greater duration (4 minutes and 28 seconds) that would also traverse a large portion of the continental US.  On April 8th, 2024, at about 6:41AM, in the Pacific Ocean, the path of totality crosses Mexico over places like Mazatlan and Durango, and then through Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, and Northeast Canada, exiting into the North Atlantic from Nova Scotia.  Many large cities will fall under the umbra.  Quite likely, even more people will witness this eclipse.

The second cross happens over Carbondale, Illinois and the whole general area of the New Madrid Earthquake fault.  Many things have been, and will be written about this.  This fault-line, near the Mississippi River, was the location of the largest earthquake in US history in 1812.

This eclipse happens at 19Aries24, with the nodal axis at 15Aries37/15Libra37, and is a North Node Eclipse.  It’s nearly opposite the degree of the 2023 eclipse.  But what is incredible, is that the eclipse is exactly conjunct Chiron at 19Aries24.  The US has Chiron at 20Aries08, and in the throes of its fifth Chiron Return.  It’s hard to make this kind of stuff up.  (See the two Sabian symbols for 20 Aries below)  The transiting South Node is also conjunct the US Saturn.  Meanwhile, Pluto has, by now, entered into Aquarius.

THE THIRD CROSS

Considerably less well known, is a third cross.  The path of the 2024 eclipse will cross the path of the 2023 eclipse in Texas, directly over San Angelo.  San Antonio very nearly gets to be in the cross.  As this is written in May of 2021, consider the significance of Texas in light of the primary global narrative unfolding now.  If you consider the included diagram of the three crosses, notice the shape and any possible meaning there.  There are many clues.  It will certainly be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

“THE FOURTH TURNING”   Section Three

To develop a larger context for understanding the possible meaning and intent of all this, I now turn to a rather important source of information for me; a book written in 1997 called “The Fourth Turning” (by William Strauss and Neil Howe).  In addition to providing a new context for the Timeline material in the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm ™, it also provides an amazingly useful view of United States history.  There is no astrology in the book, but it’s remarkably useful nonetheless.  Sometime ago I reviewed this book in the newsletter.

In summary, the authors use the ancient Etruscan concept of the saeculum, a time period of about 90 years, a concept that originated from when they noticed that at any given time, the oldest respected elder was about 90 years old.  They then also noticed that within that same 90 years, four generations would come and go.

This has a marvelously useful application to US history (and apparently all of Europe and even China, but not Russia).  For example, a fourth turning has occurred about every 90 years or so, at a really major turning point in US and European history.  The American Revolution was at a Fourth Turning from 1773-1794.  The US Civil War was a Fourth Turning 1860-1865.  And the next Fourth Turning was the Great Depression and WW2 circa 1929-1946.  The current Fourth Turning began with 9/11/2001 and is speculated to end around 2025.  Totally fascinating that this corresponds to the US Pluto and Chiron returns.  The triple cross eclipses over America should certainly get our attention, if we are willing to look at history.  Each Fourth Turning for the US has resulted in a total shift into a different national paradigm.  But none have been with these additional factors.  What can we expect?

Will it be the death of the American experiment?  Will it be another revolution, and the breakup of the US as we have known it?  Will it be something like post WW2 with the Cancerian development of the largest middle class ever?  Will it be the sellout of the Black population after the Civil War?  Or will the dominant energy of Saturn and then Pluto in Aquarius implement the technocratic, trans-humanist, top-down, Homo Sapiens 2.0, Great Re-set agenda of the New World Order?  Or instead, maybe a Great Awakening, with the restoration of Primal Earth/Gaia, and a commitment to personal autonomy and sovereignty, with the greater emphasis on our humanity and connection to Spirit, Divinity, and with the capacity to co-create with Great Mystery.  I vote for that one!

Just as in 2017, SAMS produced a summit called “Preparing for 2020”; in the same vein, I write these articles to prepare us for 2022-2025.  It’s way better to be aware of all this, and learn from history.  Awareness of all possibilities can help enable our ability to use the “Three World’s Approach” and to be better able to apprehend what role each of us, individually, is to play, as we align with our life purpose and take our place on the mandala of life.

SABIAN SYMBOLS FOR 20ARIES

From Rudhyar:

PHASE 20 (ARIES 20°): A YOUNG GIRL FEEDING BIRDS IN WINTER.

KEYNOTE: Overcoming crises through compassion.

Nature’s seasonal rhythms imply an oscillation between living and dying. Through creative imagination man can “fly over” the cycle, and discover means not only to escape from the fatality of seasonal decay or deprivation, but to assist other living entities to survive through crises. Migrating birds fly south (cf. symbol of Aries 12°), but by establishing a partnership with other creatures unable to escape wintry deprivation or death, man can maintain the life of the spirit (symbolized by birds) steady through all crises if, like a “young girl,” he is widely open to the promptings of love and sympathy.

At this fifth stage of the symbolic sequence we witness human activity motivated by sympathy overcoming the seasonal phase of impotency. Life potency in nature spirits reaches a higher level in the human being.  The theme is THE TRANSMUTATION OF LIFE INTO LOVE.

From Lonsdale:

ARIES 20:   An empty courtyard.

Nothing is left.  Reality is scattered.  Self-obliterated.  The familiar rendered irrelevant. Apocalyptic changes, personal and collective, take over.  No being, only action.  You become a projectile of intent, literally identify with what you can do now.  A barren wasteland of an inner world.  A thrust outside. Stark and surreal.  You feel compelled to dare, pushed over the edge, no going back–destiny as frenzy. And in this wild, volatile mix, creative forces are released that would never come out any other way.  Yielding to the role of the purging and cleansing agent of changes, you are unable to wriggle out of anything ever again.

Taurus and Cancer Activation

Mars in Cancer, Venus in Taurus, Sun in Taurus, Mercury in Taurus

We are approaching the season of Taurus, beginning on April 19th when the Sun reaches 30 degrees beyond the Vernal Equinox point.  The inner planets, consisting of Mercury, Venus and Mars all shift signs within nine days of each other as well as the Sun.

The Sun being in Taurus by itself is far from the only factor of what we experience astrologically.  Each year will be a bit different in its expression due to the sign locations and aspects of the planets during the season.  But a general character or essence of what is coming up can be explored.  In this article, I’ll be exploring the upcoming transits of the Sun and inner planets along with notable and historical figures that were born with the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Taurus and Mars in Cancer.

Taurus is a sign that has its essence rooted in the middle of spring when the colors of plants and birds are at a lush point.  It is an active, sensually pleasing time and a real flowering of life itself.  In people, Taurus represents receiving the pleasures and comforts of life, from personal intimacy to artistic expression with the physical realm.

Taurus is an experiential sign in the physical senses, deepening our understanding of aesthetics and sensuality.  But it is also tied to the physical security of comforts and pleasures, including the resources to hold onto them.  In Western Astrology (especially Sun-sign astrology), Taurus is typically seen as stubborn, unchangeable and materialistic.  That is more of the “shadow” qualities of Taurus and only part of the sign’s reality.

A healthy Taurus energy is the ability to savor the pleasures of life without excess, knowing where to draw the line.  Taurus is also a about subtleties in touch, sight, smell, taste and sound.  It is in really knowing (in the body) what feels good from the sensation-functions (not to be confused with emotions).

Personalness is also a Taurus quality, especially in intimacy.  In that process, which is broad in scope, Taurus connects with the chi of pleasures of sensations.

There is also polarity of Taurus that encompasses vanity and narcissism of varying degrees in the same astrological modalities as Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius (with different expressions of it).  These generally show up in unhealthy ways, especially if taken to excess.

This Taurus period begins to ebb on May 3rd, when Mercury ingresses into the sign of Gemini, then May 8th when Venus joins Mercury in that sign.

Mars, symbolizing the masculine principle in shamanic astrology, enters the sign of Cancer on April 23rd (through June 11th).  Cancer symbolizes family nourishment, compassion and empathy and this sign is a provider of safe, protective spaces.  It is vastly different from Taurus in that it is a “giving” sign and is highly concerned with the health and safety of others, primarily in the community and family or tribe.

The sign of Cancer bears the cultural burden of caring for the culture itself.  Cancer can take on those burdens personally as it fulfills their role in life.  Known as the “mother” archetype, Cancer plays a critical role in families and communities and cultures survive with compassionate understanding where in many situations it may not exist.  Cancer can also show up as a fierce defender of progeny and community as well as tradition.

It is quite a different contrast from the self-exploratory of pleasure that Taurus symbolizes.  But Mars in the “giving” role through the heart may be helpful in combination with Taurus for a softer energy in the human collective.  However, the shadow of Cancer in the masculine can be unyielding of a perceived notion of tradition and security to protect the tribe, even at the sacrifice of healthy change.

Another unhealthy side of Cancer can be (like Capricorn) taking on too much responsibility for the family, workplace and community.  This can lead to breakdowns and illnesses when the Cancer archetype lacks balance.

With these inner planets (and the Sun) representing a short-term transit, they are operating within the astrological themes of a Uranus-Saturn square and Pluto-Eris square.

Ramblings, Reflections and Ruminations – New Moon February 2021

The Three Worlds Approach: The Fifth Crown Jewel by Daniel Giamario, Founder

Over the last few years I have often referenced what I call the Three Worlds Approach.  This has been particularly noticeable if you have been following my FaceBook posts, vlogcasts and seminars. I desire here to explore what this is more deeply in this article.

Previously in teachings, Cayelin and I have referred to the FOUR crown jewels of the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm™, namely:
1) 144 storylines of lineage and life purpose
2) The Shamanic Timeline of Initiatory processes
3) A unique approach to the synodic cycles of Mercury, Venus and Mars
4) The Inner Sacred Marriage Process

I now think the Three Worlds Approach qualifies as the FIFTH.

In developing the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm™, I borrowed from “Shamanism 101”, the nearly universal motif found in animistic and shamanically oriented cultures, of three worlds: namely the Upper World (or Celestial World), the Middle World, and the Lower World (or Underworld).

In the initiatory approach used by the Shamanic Astrology approach, I noticed over now 51 years of my practice that outer planet symbolic meanings, and their cycles, correspond with these three worlds:

Uranus and Neptune correspond with the Upper World
Saturn, Jupiter and the Lunar Nodes correspond with the Middle World
Pluto and Chiron (and likely Eris) correspond to the Lower or Underworld.

The deeper understanding of the synodic cycles of Mercury, Venus and Mars reveal that all three worlds can be found when looking at the entire synod of each. Those expressions are not part of this current exploration, but can be found in our Synodic cycle online course. Let’s now look at these three worlds.

Upper World (Celestial) featuring Uranus and Neptune

Originally, in ancient animism and shamanism, this was the sky realm, above and free of the Earth. This would include the starry firmament, including the movements of the Moon and planets.  In more modern times, including archetypal psychology and astrology, a number of different kinds of altered consciousness states, or non-ordinary reality can be seen as part of this celestial realm. In Shamanic Astrology, Uranus and Neptune symbolize two different kinds of upper world access and experience.

Neptune: The Self is empty. The material world has no substantial basis. All is transitory, rising and falling in and out of manifest existence.  Clarity and certainty are impediments. Seemingly infinite lines of probability arise. Narrowing any down and defining becomes impossible.

The trick is to not mind this and relax around it; confusion and “not knowing” is to be embraced. All possibilities are allowed for, and there is nothing to prove or to accomplish. This is very much an ultimate Buddhist perception. It also corresponds to philosophical “idealism”.  At its best it’s the great truth that “all is well”, and “the universe is unfolding as it should”.  At its worst, it is spiritual bypass and light polarization. Like all expressions of the Upper World, they exist outside our ordinary experiences of linear time.

Uranus: Unpredictable, unknowable and unexpected events happen that we are usually at the effect of.  Generally always these are beyond our control. It’s always freedom from the “known”. The best approach is to roll with the punches, trust that you are going in the direction your soul intended to go, and be not attached. Be at the front of the wave.

At its best it’s like “being hit by lightning in a good way”.  Change is good, and is not a referendum on some kind of deficiency or failure. Synchronicity abounds and expects that we pay attention. In Shamanism, this indicates an “assemblage point” shift.  The ultimate purpose of Uranian initiations is to propel us to “other worlds” (not the underworld). At its best, it is extreme novelty and high adventure. At its worst it’s a massive unwelcome disrupter of our well-laid plans. Like Neptune, Uranian experience lies outside of ordinary linear time.

Middle World: Jupiter, Saturn and the Lunar Nodes
This realm of experience is our ordinary, material 3D experience, apparently linear, logical, and rational, and generally experienced that way. It is the realm of philosophical “materialism”. It has been variously called the “real world” and objective reality. We develop a functioning personal identity, ego and persona to be able to function here. This is not a shabby achievement! Three planetary processes describe this middle world.

Jupiter: Phases of life that provide optimism and enthusiasm towards our life purpose. Experiences that value and validate our genuine gifts, and greatest joys about being alive. Often it’s a time and a means of expanding our lives to a higher octave.  It generally will describe and inspire our connection to our life’s dharma and true genius. At its best it’s a great high point in the story of our lives.  The down side can be too much expansion, and at its worst megalomania and narcissism.

Saturn: This is an organic 3D symbol of how to grow, change and evolve via limitations and boundaries. This need not be thought of as negative or depressing, though it can sometimes feel that way. It’s best to think of it as a process of maturation, or like a snake shedding its skin, a totally natural process.

Often it’s an indicator of stages of life and of time, often quite literal.  It’s really the key to NOT view it as a judge or critic, but as a reality check, saying “get real”. It’s one of our best guides as to how to survive and thrive here in 3D “reality”. From a spiritual perspective, this is our greatest teacher for escaping the wheel of Karma, otherwise known as the “matrix”.  But that will require seeing through the hoax of Saturn, or no longer believing its judgments, and inducing feelings of shame, guilt, the brainwash of “original sin”, and alleged deficiencies.

This has been the “Saturn” of more recent times, the “superego” of Freud. At its best, Saturn is a great guide for accurate assessment of the reality of our life experience. At its worst it traps us in a mechanistic and deterministic machine-like wheel of Karma, unfortunately, these days having morphed into a Christianized version of karma, based more on guilt and reward and punishment, now far removed from the original views from India.

Lunar Nodes: The meaning of the nodal axis and its cycles is really paramount in one of the other “crown jewels” of the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm™, the 144 storylines of lineage and current life intent. As a symbol and initiatory middle world process, it, like Jupiter and Saturn, indicates time-frames and storylines of current life purpose.

The Nodal Return has a more Jupiterian flavor of re-aligning with original intent and entering a field of all possibilities. The Nodal Reversal is more Saturnian, with a greater necessity to change course if one discovers that they are no longer aligned with their original intent. Unlike Jupiter and Saturn, these Nodal initiations are more visionary, and often less actional. It’s a time to trust the transmissions, dreams, and intuitions that are coming into awareness. It’s like the “future self” reaching back to get our attention.

Lower World (Underworld) Pluto and Chiron (possibly Eris)
Originally, in animistic and shamanic culture, this was the “underworld”, meaning under the ocean, under the Earth, and especially the caves and the chthonic realms. In more recent times, within archetypal psychology and astrology, this domain of experience includes the deep unconscious, the “shadow” from the Jungian perspective, and the “Id”, from a Freudian perspective. It is the realm where the ego and the normal level of awareness are not in control.

With this feature, it resembles Uranus. Like the Upper world initiatory process, the underworld initiations are outside of linear time and our usual objective reality.  But their intent is quite different, as we shall see.

Pluto:  Although the Underworld process of initiation was well known to the ancients, the discovery of Pluto in 1930 brought a potent astrological symbol of this world to the modern age. Like Uranus, this kind of experience happens beyond our control. It is also typified by irrational and chaotic events, externally or internally.

The intent is to introduce the conditions for surrender. There is no technique for surrender, otherwise it’s not surrender.  Challenges arise, and the three main ways of handling them are useless. You cannot use strength or will to power through; you cannot use your mind to figure it out and solve the challenge; and you cannot pretend it doesn’t matter. Spiritual bypass or other forms of denial are useless.

These kinds of initiatory experiences are not logical and are not to be taken personally, though its likely to bring up deep feelings and unknown and uncontrollable emotional experiences. Unlike the Middle World that exists ostensibly in a linear and logical place, the Lower World is off the world stage, and, like the Upper World, outside of time. Although this kind of experience is utterly natural, the current modern age seldom teaches us about it.

There are time periods when composting is necessary, and surrender can be near the final stage just before freedom and self-realization. At its most intense, this Pluto can symbolize a “dark night of the Soul”, an utter annihilation of self and any material ground. However the goal is transformation. Out of composting comes new life. A phoenix rises from the ashes.

Also what arises is an organic connection to life force rising from the underworld and the revitalization of our energies and passion rising from the core and from the contents of our unconscious that had not been brought to light. Pluto also has an etymological connection to “wealth”. This does not mean money per se, but strength and aliveness.

Chiron: Also well known to the ancients through the constellation Centaurus, knowledge of this initiatory process only came back into modern astrology with the discovery of Chiron in 1977, the first of a new category of planetary bodies, called Centaurs.

Within this paradigm, Chiron is a teacher who assists in the digestion of our “wounding”, mostly the usual human issues that we all have one or more of, such as: Separation from unity, violation, betrayal, abandonment, lack of self love and others. In some cases he is especially helpful should you have a unique and very specific wounding.

Importantly, it’s not allopathic healing, but rather a compassionate integration of these “sacred fractures” into our wholeness.  This digestion of our experiences then can easily be part of our medicine for helping and healing others, but first with our-selves.

Chiron is an in-between symbol: in-between Saturn and Uranus, part immortal and part human, and part human and part animal. The mysteries of life and death are part of this medicine, both completely honoring our humanness and vulnerability, as well as our eternal divinity. Chiron is allocated to the Lower World of initiation and experience also due to the irrationality of his actions, and the inducement to surrender, without taking it personally. Like Pluto, there is great emphasis on the feeling function, with a requirement to feel everything that you feel without judgment or bypass.

The Three Worlds Approach

With this understanding of the three worlds, what then is the approach? It is nothing less than to somehow hold all three worlds in awareness at the same time. This can be such a powerful way to make sense of the current times; without which the historical and astrological events now happening, circa 2020-2021, that have not been seen for 12,900 years at least, are understandingly overwhelming.

This is no easy task, as few persons are balanced in all three, or even aware of these three worlds, that were intimately known to the ancients. And even if known, human beings tend to have their preferences, either from their culture or from the archetypal uniqueness in their own charts.

All three worlds are real and true, within their world. But only there is it completely true.  For example: In the Upper World, the “all is well and the Universe is unfolding as it should” view is a reality. The Buddhist “self is empty” view is accurate, relative to the celestial. But not at all helpful if this results in fear or failure to look at the Middle World or Underworld.  This is how spiritual bypass happens with an aversion to anything less than idealistic, hopeful or love and light. Too much of this actually causes an increase in the underworld’s energy, as well as rendering that individual incapable of facing Middle World realities.

Only emphasizing the Middle World consigns a person to the presumed reality of linear logic, rationality, materialism, and often the “myth of progress”. Or the opposite: the End Times, the end of Kali Yuga, the end of the 26,000 year cycle etc. This ignores the miracles and the novel events outside of time from the Upper World.

It also can ignore the irrational presence of Chaos, the need for surrender, and the inevitability of annihilation and death. But then it’s within this world that our 3D life unfolds within structures and laws, none that are eternal, without change. With a lot of Saturn, we can perceive the innumerable examples of end game scenarios. All have a measure of objective truth. A great amount of Jupiter provides an extremely optimistic view of all the practical ways to save the planet. All of these have a measure of objective reality also. The objective reality of global humanity in 3D is as important as the Celestial, as this is, after all, our school…otherwise we would have remained angels.

It is less common to overemphasize the Underworld. But as global humanity itself is undergoing its own “Dark Night” it is extremely important to give this equal standing to the other two. The sudden ending of ourselves, and in fact, the entire galaxy could wink out at any instant. And few can argue that so much about the current world does indeed deserve composting (and renewal).

The Underworld dimension has very little to do with what humans are or do. It’s all natural forces way beyond our power to control or have dominion over. The underworld is an ultimate antidote to hubris, that is, the over-weaning pride of humans believing they are god.

My view is that Great Mystery, through the agency of our Primal Earth Mother, is ultimately the force and intelligence that is directing the show. There are many who have become victims of what has been called the “new age highjack”, who believe that this approach is just too negative and just instills fear. To be conscious and aware of “worst case scenarios” does not cause them, or magnetize them. In fact it’s a courageous test of awareness. And can eliminate the scourge of denial. It is reminiscent of the Buddhist view that any day that goes by without you contemplating your own death is a wasted life.

So our goal is to hold all three at once. There is one additional complication that may arise. Seldom is any individual in all three kinds of cycles at the same time. And as I mentioned, you can have your personal preferences. These can be exacerbated if your personal cycles are dominant in one or two of these three worlds, but not all three. Great awareness, courage and focus, is required. The greatest gift of all from working with this approach is developing a neutral center point, a place of peace and equanimity, without judgment that can begin to see all of these worlds together. This is a great use of Aquarius!

I hope this has been of assistance in the challenges of navigating these times. Now you can understand why I am considering this teaching as the FIFTH Crown Jewel of the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm ™.  You shall certainly hear more of this in the coming years, with the bottoming out of the Kali Yuga being eminent, and the Pluto Return and the Fourth Turning of the United States, just in front of us. Find your purpose and be grateful to be alive at such a momentous and extra-ordinary time.

Note: These three words are what are experienced, within the context of a human lifetime with a physical body. All are experienced within the stages and seasons of the Shamanic Timeline, and with planetary transits. All are natural and will be experienced on multiple occasions. Thus, these are not to be confused with the Netherworld (land of the dead), the Bardo Planes between lives, or the “Otherworld” of Celtic mythology. These are also not heaven or hell realms that may be encountered when we have no body.

The Autumn Hunter

The harbinger of late autumn can be seen in the night sky from the northern hemisphere around 9 or 10 pm as we look southward.  Just as the harvest moon is followed by the hunter moon, following the autumn harvest is the rise of the great Hunter Orion, named by Greek mythology. Though this star group has other mythical origins and names from other cultures the Hunter image relates well to this time of year and the focus of life as the seasons turn.

Historically, the harvest is completed by October’s end and hunting wild game follows as winter approaches.  The Hunter constellation, aka Orion, is located on the Celestial Equator and visible from both the northern and southern hemispheres.
