Sun-Uranus Conjunction May 5, 2022

FACEBOOK May 5, 2022

By Erik M Roth of Inspiral Nexus

Our annual Sun-Uranus conjunction takes place on the 5th of May at 14°47’ Taurus.  Aside from solar eclipses, any conjunctions with the Sun are not visible to the naked eye.  The conjunctions take place nearly every calendar year and shift about 4-5 days and hence 4-5 degrees forward each successive year.

Uranus’ time in Taurus (since 2018) has helped us understand our relationship to conveniences, comforts, and pleasures in our lives.  Astrologically, Uranus helps bring about sudden, unexpected breakthroughs, changes and generally helping humanity to an expanded level of perspective through its role as a “change agent”.

In the “upset and overturn” from the pandemic and the ripples this event sent through all areas of society, we’ve experienced an addiction here in the Western World of getting almost anything delivered to us without having to leave our home within hours or a few days.  And yet even with the near-instant procurement of materials, food and most other things, companies are trying to come with ways to deliver it even faster.

But Uranus is still in the 2nd year of squaring Saturn in Aquarius, and this leads to a greater understanding about what is being sacrificed for those conveniences.  At the most fundamental level, it is Earth that is in a crisis and being sacrificed for convenience.  However, Taurus is deeply connected to Earth as an archetype where at its essence is about the flowers, fruits and pleasures of being on the Earth.  In a way, Uranus and Saturn are reminding us of our intimate relationship to Mother Earth.

The Sun conjunction of Uranus activates the Uranian and Taurus qualities more acutely as described above.  We can utilize this time to question what is truly needed and what is not needed in our lives.  In addition, to prepare for more unexpected disruption about our conveniences and creature comforts.  Sustainability is a key factor and asking ourselves what can we do to sustain the beauty, comforts and pleasures of the world?

Aries, Mercury and Uranus Spotlighted at the Beltane Cross Quarter

In May, there will be quite a large energetic shift to the astrological Mystery School of Aries.  Later this month, both Jupiter (May 10th), and Mars (May 24th), will ingress Aries.  Their conjunction in the morning sky happens May 29th.  We will have lots more to say about this over the next weeks.  Leading the way is the entrance of Venus into Aries Monday, May 2nd at 9:10AM PDT.  Saturn, Mars, Venus and Jupiter will continue to dominate the morning sky all month.

Also on May 2nd, at 8:05AM PDT, it may be possible to see a really slim crescent Moon with Mercury at 2Gemini10, in the evening sky just after sunset, 20degrees clear of the Sun. This pair is conjunct the Pleiades.  Quite remarkable is that on May 29th, the Moon will again conjoin Mercury in the morning sky, just then rising from the interior Underworld, joining the other four visible planets.  From that time onwards, for at least until July 3rd, all five are together in the morning sky.  I am unsure when writing this when the last time this happened, but it’s not very often.  This is a bonanza for those of us that like to commune with them easily with the naked eye.

Another feature of these coming days, and amplifying the Solar Eclipse seed point, is the yearly conjunction of the Sun with Uranus.  This happens at 12:22AM PDT the morning of May 5th at 14Taurus47.  This also directs our attention to the final Saturn square Uranus alignment coming up in September/October.

Not to be forgotten is that we are in the middle of the Beltane/May Day cross-quarter season.  Exact astronomical Beltane is May 4/5 when the Sun is exactly 15degrees Taurus, midway between the March Equinox and the June Solstice.  A full discussion of Beltane is beyond the scope of this post.  However, how I see it, it’s an organic, in the body, time to celebrate the fecundity of the Earth, and the renewal of all that lives and grows.  It’s also a time for honoring the creation with fire.  Synchronistically, I just heard that the Festival of Fire at the sacred hill of Uisneach in central Ireland is happening again this year.  I had the opportunity to go in 2012, and had a wonderful experience. The ancient tradition had been revived in 2009, and after a two year hiatus is on again, May 7th.  What ancient way of celebration can you participate in to aid in the renewal of the Earth; and help reanimate ways of recreating Prime Earth?

Venus Jupiter Conjunction, Pluto Retrograde, and Mercury Rises – April 29, 2022

FACEBOOK APRIL 29, 2022

By Daniel Giamario

There are lots of things to report on today in addition to the Partial Solar Eclipse at 1:28PM PDT this Saturday April 30th.  Check out previous post here .

Venus exactly conjuncts Jupiter less than an hour after the Solar Eclipse Super New Moon at 2:14PM PDT Saturday.  Venus will be just 0.23degrees SE of Jupiter (27Pisces57).  That is really close, and almost can be seen to be touching!  Over here in Asia the exact conjunction is really well placed at 5:14AM Sunday morning, just before sunrise.  Sadly, in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the exact conjunction is in the afternoon, so the times to see them at their closest would be Saturday morning and Sunday morning before dawn.  The conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter are actually not that rare, happening every 11-15 months.  The previous one was Feb.11, 2021, too close to the Sun for easy viewing.  The next one is March 2, 2023, better placed for viewing about 31degrees out in the evening sky.  Therefore, this one is not to be missed!  The added feature is that it’s a major Piscean amplifier of the Solar Eclipse.

On Friday at 11:38AM PDT, Pluto turned retrograde at 28Capricorn35.  This ended a long time-frame where all planets (including Chiron) have been direct, that began February 4th.  This is really a long period of all planets direct, longest that I can remember.  We are still gathering data as to what that means.  What I do know is that just as retrograde motion is not dualistically “bad”, likewise all planets direct is not necessarily “good”.  Using the approach our school takes, there is at least a three day period of Plutonian intensity Pluto is stationary retrograde or stationary direct.  The same situation happens with the yearly solar conjunction, opposition, and quadratures with Pluto.  Certainly this adds a Plutonian flavor also to amplify the Solar Eclipse.  Not to be forgotten is that the retrograde turning of Pluto brings it back to the next exact conjunction with the United States Pluto on July 9-10th.

With all the understandable attention on the beauty and evocative power of the four planets in the morning sky, meanwhile Mercury has risen in the evening sky, now a good 22degrees clear of the Sun. Mercury has recently entered Gemini, its favorite place to be!  This also happens to be Mercury’s finest evening apparition of Mercury in 2022 for the Northern Hemisphere.  In the current Mercury synodic Capricorn over-story, this is the Hermetic phase. Mercury remains in the evening sky at least until May 10, then turning retrograde and soon descending into a metamorphic  initiatory process which leads up to a new synodic over-story (which will be Taurus).

All in all, it’s such a special time to be with the visible planets and to receive their transmissions.

Venus-Neptune conjunction April 27, 2022

The Pisces archetype is continuing to be strongly activated this month and into early May.  Venus has moved into a conjunction with Neptune today at 24 degrees, 28 minutes of Pisces (sign, not constellation).

In shamanic astrology, Venus represents the feminine principle and has a resonance with the sign of Taurus.  Neptune connects us beyond 3rd-dimensional reality and “into the mystic”.  Neptune can act as a reality-dissolving agent as well.  Jupiter is fairly close at less than 3 degrees away at 27 degrees, Pisces, expanding the qualities of the Venus-Neptune conjunction.

The waning crescent Moon just finished a conjunction with Neptune, Venus and Jupiter in the early morning and on its way to big date with the Sun for a partial solar eclipse on the 30th.  The Moon’s transit by any planet activates the qualities of the sign and planet.  This means that Pisces has a potent impact in our current world and continuing over the next few days and into May as Venus also conjuncts Jupiter on the 30th.

The qualities of Pisces strongly resonate with Neptune as well and to some degree Jupiter as well.  The common thread of all of that is that of spiritual desires and ecstatic experiences (especially with Source or Creation).  This is a wonderful time period to get lost in other realities as a way to open the heart and soul beyond the complexities of the mundane.  Perhaps empathy can rise and healing can pour in?

Beyond our reality though can come unfulfilled dreams, illusions about our truths and we are truly experiencing in our life.  So this can take us away from our goals as well, but if we free ourselves from the manacles of our ego, we may end up with a broader sense of where we may strive toward.
